Plastic-free water filter that bonds with toxins in tap water, including Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Copper, and Chlorine. Place the stick directly into your water and it begins immediately. The toxins adsorb to the activated charcoal and your water is better tasting and healthier!

Why We Chose This Product: A plastic-free way to filter water, which encourages refilling water bottles and cups vs. single-use bottled water. Plus the water tastes delicious & has scientific research to back it's effectiveness.

BONUS: We spoke with the owner and she's awesome! She has even traveled to Japan to meet the artisans who are highly skilled in the creation of this activated charcoal and continue to pass the knowledge down to future generations.

About the Product: Activated carbon has been used for water filtration for a very long time; and for good reason. Kishu charcoal now gives us access to this filtration in a very low waste way. No plastic case for the filter, you can use this water filter in a glass container you already have at home, and it works for 4 months!

Simply place Kishu into the water pitcher with water and it begins working immediately. Optimal filtration time is 6-8 hours. Kishu Charcoal is a plastic-free way to remove toxins from your water.

To maintain optimal effectiveness, once a month, gently boil your Kishu Charcoal in a shallow pan of water for 5 minutes, then allow to dry for 20 minutes before returning it to your bottle, pitcher, or container. Boiling your Kishu stick will reopen its pores so it will continue to provide you with delicious tasting water.

Kishu Charcoal activated water filter works by adsorption. Which means the toxins stick to the surface of the charcoal. By boiling the Kishu charcoal once a month clears the pores and frees up space for more amazing chemical adsorption! Isn't science cool?
