Celebrate Global Love Day
Global Love Day takes place on May 1, every year. This year, we are asking you to take a moment, set a reminder, and let's all sit down to meditate/pray in any and all denominations, and spread love to ourselves, our neighbors, and our world. Share your photos and your ideas with us with the Hashtag #globalloveHour
Let's see how many people we can get to sit down together at the exact same time, to do the exact same thing, spread the love! It's that simple. Take 10-15 minutes, or meditate and pray for the entire hour, whatever you decide, the world will be a better place when you are done. We believe this deep down.
What time should We Meditate/Pray For Global Love Hour?
This year we are asking that at 8:31a.m. EST Time, see below for a chart across all time zones, you sit down to spread love. Let us all take a moment to recognize that we are all one, and connected in some way. Let us all honor ourselves, and each other by first shining light on ourselves and outwards to our neighbors, loved ones (by name for those that could use some extra healing,) our town, our world. This is not a day for any one specific religion, but it is a very spiritual/religious day for us all.
What is Global Love Day?
Global Love Day was originally started in 2004 by Harold Becker.
"Join People from around the world as we acknowledge, celebrate and share the love we have within." Harold Becker
The vision, as stated on the website is: "
"We honor each May 1st as a symbolic day of unconditional love and call upon all people and all nations to gather together in the wisdom of peace and love.
Global Love Day is the universal recognition of our innate oneness through love. It is our vision to unite one and all in a celebration of love and compassion. Join people around the world in celebrating and expanding LOVE." (lovefoundation.com)
How Can I Get Involved with Global Love Hour?
On May 1, 2020 at 8:31a.m. EST (full time zone list below) please mark your calendar and prepare to find a couple of minutes of quiet and in your own way, whether through prayer or meditation, sit down and begin to send love to the world.
What Time Is Meditation/Prayer Time in My Time Zone?
The ultimate goal for setting this prayer/meditation time globally is so that the entire population can pray and send love simultaneously to elevate the love felt by one and all. We are all love underneath, so if we can sit collectively and pray to spread and send love to others, there is no limit to what we can be accomplished. So let's join hands, bow or lift our heads and send peace, love, and healing to our planet and all of humanity.
What Else Can I Do To Celebrate Global Love Day?
According to the Love Foundation's website, there are many other ways you can spread your love on this day. Ultimately, we aim to encourage people to spread love/kindness each and every day but by setting aside some time each year to join together and spread love with intention we hope to start spreading healing throughout humanity.
Here are some other ways you can spread love on May 1, 2020:
- Volunteer
- Create a piece of art, music, poetry, etc.
- Garden - growing your own food helps everyone
- Think about ways you can reduce your waste
- Do a Random Act of Kindness
- Dance & Laugh
We here at 4 The Greater Good hope that you will join us each and every year on May 1, 2020! #Spreadthelovehour
