Suburban Farming is a very important and growing trend across our country. As a society, we are all starting to embrace the fact that we need to take better care of our planet, by reducing plastic usage, reducing our waste, and drastically cutting back on our reliance on dirty fossil fuels.  There is good news... we can do all of these things with a simple shift; called suburban farming. More people than ever are starting to grow their own food again! The concept is simple and everyone (even apartment dwellers) can get involved. How to Purchase in Bulk at Whole Foods (Bring your Own Containers)

Can you bring your own containers to Whole Foods? In short, yes. The long version, they may or may not allow you to use them. My Whole Foods was good with it, other's, not so much. The FDA has some regulations in place that say you are only able to reuse containers that are purchased from the location that you are going to use them. I always bring string bags (apples, potatoes, and produce of all kinds,) produce bags (so far these have always been accepted), and bento bags for larger items (pistachios, rice, etc.) the glass containers seem to be on a store by store basis.

A Simple Idea Can Transform School Lunches In Orange County, Florida there are 20 elementary schools taking part in a very important initiative... creating a "Share Table" for lunch. It's making an impact, minimizing waste, feeding the hungry, making kids smile, and overall is nothing but a benefit to the entire community. We at 4 The Greater Good LOVE this type of stuff! We have already shared with you how important it is to use reusable snack bags, purchase package free produce, and switch to plastic-free reusable water bottles for our kid's lunches, but this idea is another great one to add to the list!  So what is a "Share Table?"  A Share Table is a table for students to place...
